Curriculumn

Our School follows The Ministy of Education Curriculum. The dean’s office is in charge of coordinating academic activities of the school as set by The Ministry of Education and the school management.

THE DEAN OF STUDIES

This office is managed by the dean, Ms Eileen Mutwiri, assisted by Mrs. Mary Kenyanito, but it cannot run without the other Heads of Departments;

Languages, Sciences, Technicals and humanities. All decisions concerning the school academics are made by these Heads of Departments in consultation with the school administration.

SUBJECTS OFFERED

The subjects offered at Langata School are: English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics , Biology, Computer Science, Agriculture, Business Studies, Christian Religious Education, History & Government and Geography. English, Kiswahili, and Mathematics are compulsory.

Students are expected to take eleven subjects at form one. Subject selection is done at form two to allow students to start focusing on their line of interest.

EXAMINATIONS

The Dean's office makes sure the exams are set, typed, produced, and given to the students on time.

There are a total of four exams per term which are evenly distributed and in sync with the teaching timetable and other school programmes.

The Heads of department take charge of the exams to make sure they are standard exams, well supervised and that there is no cheating in those exams.

ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE

The students’ books are supposed to be neat and well taken care of. The students notes shold be upto up to date at all times, assignments are to be timely done and checked by the teachers.

Classrooms are to be orderly and clean at all times and school property used properly. This should be adhered to by the students to avoid penalties

Co-curricular Activities

Apart from academics, the school is also active in co-curricular activities that include sports: football, basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, and clubs & societies like music, Drama, Scouts, among others

Once the process is finalised, the school Vision and Mission will be clearly understood by the Students, Teachers, Parents and the stakeholders of Langata High School.
